In conjunction with World Cake Day celebration on 26 November 2023, Central Sugars Refinery (CSR) had partner with Chef Kecik Kitchen (CK) to carry out a series of exciting activities to celebrate this occasion. The event was also enlivened by the presence of our honoured guest, Marsha Milan and the CEO of CSR, En. Mohamad Zuki Wan Abdullah.
The event started off with “Breakfast Bersama Marsha Milan” where crowds got to meet and catch up with Marsha casually in the CK Café, followed by a quick demonstration by Marsha to spread CSR Better Brown onto cinnamon roll and dip cinnamon roll into Better Brown glaze under the guidance of Chef Kecik. Crowds cheered along as Marsha successfully completed her “mission”.
Then we moved on the the main highlight of the day – Bake It Better: The Final Challenge. Bake It Better is a series of campaign where CSR collaborated with different partners (ERA Flour, Gardenia Delicia and SCS Butter) in each series to come out with a cake recipe, ranging from easy to intermediate level to challenge our audience to recreate the recipe with their creativity. The objective was to make baking process easier and better by providing the right knowledge and products. In the Final Challenge, a total of 6 finalists were recruited and they were tasked to bake a Butter Bundt Cake with their own creativity within 1 hr 30 min. While there were some chaotic and “surprised” moments, all bakers had successfully bake and decorate the cake in the end.
The top 3 winners were selected and listed as below with their cakes:
- Grand prize: Masyitah (Lemon Butter Cake with Passionfruit Curd Glaze)
- 2nd prize: Anis Shahira Hadis (Chocolate Cake with Praline & Buttercream Filling)
- 3rd prize: Hairunnadiah Hairuddin (Lemon Poppyseed Cake)
The event ended on a high note. We were thankful to all the partners and participants for their support along the campaign. Stay tune for the next season of Bake It Better in 2024!
