With over five decades of serving and supplying sugar to generations of Malaysians, we are moving along with times to meet growing demand with innovative products.

Our people are really important to us at CSR. Our company employs over 900 people at our plants in Shah Alam, Selangor and Padang Terap, Kedah.

CSR is continuously looking to attract, retain and develop talents to achieve our vision. We support, nurture and train our employees, investing in learning programmes to help them develop as they journey with CSR.

Employees who have been selected to a leadership role, or to be a leader at any level within the organization, will go through a leadership learning and development programme.  Additionally, we offer support to eligible employees who desire to continue their personal education journey. (e.g. – Diplomas, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or higher education level).

Learning and Development Certification

It is vital for organisations to ensure its people perform effectively, efficiently and are competent in their respective work areas. CSR places a huge effort in the creation of its learning and development department (L&D), ensuring they carry out internal learnings and plans for learning and development of its people.

When developing an employer brand, organisations must take the new generational realities into account, or be at risk of alienating this group of generation Y employees. CSR ensures the careers of the Gen Y employees are well managed, obtaining the experiences, qualifications, and solutions to meet their career goals and align with CSR.

At CSR, we continuously explore opportunities and initiatives to ensure all our employees, no matter the level, are engaged and rewarded to encourage loyalty and succession.

AKPI is set for our employees of all levels to attend a minimum of 25 hours of learning per year, either in soft skills or technical. Employees that do not have a University Diploma’s or Degree are included and they will be given the opportunity to go through various types of learning.

In collaboration with the Skills Department of Malaysia (SDM), CSR is embarking on a programme under the National Dual Training Systems (NDTS) to create a certification, measuring the skills standard of its people. The certification comprises of five learning stages. Those in level one to three will receive a Certificate of “Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) through Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK)under the Ministry of Human Resource. As for those in level four to five, they will be recognised as under the Diploma and Advance Diploma Level.

We are in the midst of developing an internal curriculum based on the competency training, referencing the National Occupational Standard System (JPK NOSS). Our strategy in obtaining the certification will be through the Recognition Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL). This is obtained for employees who have served no less than 10 years.

CSR periodically measures the success of its brand and its continued relevance to employees through ongoing market researches on industry offerings and practices. CSR recognises the importance of fulfilling its national agenda and promise. We will continue to attract new employees, retain high performing talents and manage generational shifts to deliver innovate and quality sugar products to Malaysians.
